 China Xiamen International Tea Fair 2010
Exceeds Expectations

 

Xiamen, China – The China Xiamen International Tea Fair was held November 5-8, 2010, with great success. The Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center in Xiamen, Fujian Province, proved to be an ideal venue for the event. The opening address by Mr. Lin Shuxi, Chairman, Xiamen International Chamber of Commerce, described the Tea Fair’s potential by stating “Xiamen, as the most developed city in the major tea producing province of Fujian, has the geological and economical advantage to hosting tea fair.”

 

The Tea Fair covered an exhibition area of 16,000 square meters with 221 companies exhibiting, 78 of which were from overseas, including: Hong Kong, Taiwan, United Kingdom, Sri Lanka and India. Many showed their interest in exhibiting gain at the next Tea Fair in 2011. With the 5th China Xiamen International Buddhist Items & Crafts Fair and the 2nd China Xiamen International Vegetarian Food Fair, the total number of trade visitors reached 43,656. They were from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Russia, Poland, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Australia, Sri Lanka, India, Latvia, and Monaco. 

 

Cross-Strait Summit Forum on Tea Industry: Themed on Focusing on Cross-Strait Tea Culture, Sharing World Tea Resources, the forum gathered leaders from tea enterprises and associations to discuss the development of the tea industry, thus promoting the profound tea culture and facilitating the further cooperation between Mainland China and Taiwan. Keynote speakers included Mr. Li Shiwei, President of TenFu’s Tea Company, Mr. Wang Duankai, Former Chairman of Taiwan Tea Exporters Association, Mr. Lv Lizhen, Director of the Chinese Art of Tea Craft Union, and Mr. Wang Guiqin, General Manger of Xiamen Tea Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd.

 

 

Brand Promotion Meetings: Companies used this platform to bolster their brand images, attract investment, promote new products, and seek franchisees. This year, eight companies took advantage of this opportunity, including: Fuding White Tea Association, Fujian Tan Yang Congou Group Co.,Ltd, Xiamen Sumgo Tea Co., Ltd., and others.

 

Tea Ceremony Performance: Tea Masters from Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea were invited to share the beauty and elegance of their country’s traditional tea ceremony and its culture. Programs included: Korean Tea Ceremony Performance, White Tea Ceremony Performance of China’s She Nationality, Japanese Chin-shin-ryuu Style Tea Ceremony Performance, and Oolong Tea Ceremony Performance. 

 

Cross-Strait Tea History Exhibition: Pictures and antiques were displayed to introduce the history of tea in Xiamen and Taiwan in order to make people more familiar with the long and profound history of tea in China.
